Every year we host a very special Christmas event in Honduras. We find children in the poorest of conditions and invite them to join us for activities, games, songs, learning about the true meaning of Christmas, a hot meal, a cold drink...and a "Zip It". This year our event will be a bit different with Covid-19 changes and precautions, but we still plan to provide "Zip Its", a meal and a special day for all involved.
For the past several years we have been able to host this event for around 500 children EACH YEAR. Our goal for this year is to feed and host 400+ children for this event, but if we can help even more children, that would be WONDERFUL!
Most "Zip Its" are assembled and donated from our supporters in Michigan, Indiana and around the USA. Sometimes individuals or groups decide to donate items to go in "Zip Its" and then we "Ship It" so our team of volunteers can assemble the "Zip Its" in Honduras.
Typically we plan to ship all donations so that they arrive in time for Christmas, however, with Covid-19 changes and the devastating hurricane aftermath in Honduras, we plan to do several shipments in the months to come. We will be shipping boxes the beginning of December and we will need donations for this shipment by Wednesday, December 2nd. We will be sending another shipment again just after the first of the year and as needed after that.
We are currently collecting items for "Zip Its", completed "Zip Its", donations from our AmazonSmile ongoing mission wish list, and donations for hurricane relief efforts (details will be emailed out soon and can also be found on our website page "Hurricane Relief").
